Diodes Corporation (Nasdaq: DIOD) announced the addition of two enhanced high-voltage Hall-effect switching chip lines to its automotive specification * portfolio. The single-pole AH332xQ and all-pole AH352xQ are available in SIP-3, SOT23 (Type S), and SC59 packages, offering a variety of operating sensitivity options. Both devices can be used in a wide range of non-contact position and proximity detection product applications, such as seat belt fastening, door/trunk opening and closing, windshield wipers, and steering wheel locks.

The unipolar AH332xQ turns on when the magnetic flux density of the correct polarity exceeds a defined operating threshold (BOP) and turns off when the magnetic flux falls below a release threshold (BRP). Ten sensitivities are available, ranging from 30G BOP for high sensitivity to 275G BOP for low sensitivity, and different magnets and distances can be selected for the best sensing results.


The all-polar AH352xQ will start when the magnetic flux density of the S or N poles exceeds the BOP, and shut down when the flux density is below the BRP. Three high sensitivity options are available, ranging from ±20G to ±40G BOP.


The BOP and BRP thresholds of the AH332xQ and AH352xQ provide a tight operating range with sufficient hysteresis characteristics to ensure reliable operation. At the same time, the low temperature coefficient also ensures the stability of the switching point.


The AH332xQ and AH352xQ Hall-effect devices feature open drain outputs and operate at volttimes from 3.0V to 28V and temperatures from -40°C to +150°C, enabling flexible product design to meet the demands of harsh automotive environments. The device maintains extremely accurate sensitivity even when physical stress is applied to the package. For increased robustness and reliability, both devices are equipped with reverse blocking diodes with Zener clamps at the power pin and overcurrent limiting and Zener clamps at the open drain output. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for both devices supports over 8kV HBM and 1kV CDM, with 40V load drop capability.
