Murata has developed a high efficiency DC-DC converter IC "FlexiBK Series (PE24110)" with 3.3 input voltage and 12A output upper limit for low applications up to 1.2mm. This product is available in a QFN(Quad Flat No leaded package) package of 4.0×3.2mm and is suitable for thin applications under 1.2mm.

In recent years, in the communications infrastructure market, the current consumption of ASics/DSPS has continued to increase, while the core voltage has shown a downward trend. The traditional DC-DC converter has a narrower duty cycle and significantly reduced conversion efficiency, so it requires a DC-DC converter that does not depend on the potential difference between input and output to achieve efficient conversion.

For this purpose, Murata has developed this product that greatly reduces the dependence on inductor size and achieves high efficiency in applications where thin POL regulators and optical transmission modules, core power supplies, ASics /FGPA and other applications require high-density installation to limit installation area and height. In addition to the two-stage architecture innovation circuit mode that integrates the self-developed charge pump technology and the traditional DC-DC converter circuit, 89% of the high efficiency is achieved by composing 2 phase interlacing mode. The input voltage ranges from 3.0V to 3.45V, providing 12A output current per device. The output voltage can be adjusted between 0.35V and 0.7V depending on the external feedback resistance.
