Introduction

Texas Instruments' (TI) Bulk acoustic wave (BAW) is a microresonator technology that enables the direct integration of high-precision BAW resonators into packages with ultra-low jitter clock circuits. Like other silicon-based manufacturing processes, BAW is designed and manufactured entirely at TI's facilities.


The LMK6DA05184ADLER device is a 51.84 MHz ultra-low jitter fixed frequency oscillator that incorporates BAW as a resonator source. The device is factory programmed for specific operating modes, including frequency, voltage, output type, and functional pins. The LMK6x features a high-performance fractional divider capable of generating any frequency within a specified range, providing a single family of devices to meet all frequency needs.


With high performance clocks, mechanical stability, flexibility and small package options, this device is ideal for reference and core clocks within high-speed SERDES used in telecommunications, data, and enterprise networking and industrial applications.


Features

High-performance differential, single-output oscillators that support any fixed frequency within the following range:

LMK6D: 1 to 400MHz, LVDS output

Ultra-low jitter

LMK6D: Typical RMS jitter at 156.25MHz is 100fs, maximum is 125fs (12kHz to 20MHz)

Overall frequency stability of ±25ppm (taking into account 10 years of aging and all other factors)

Ultra-small industry common DLE and DLF packages

Supports extended industrial temperature ratings

LMK6D: -40 °C to 85°C

Integrated LDO, with robust power anti-noise capability

The PSRR at 500kHz ripple is -72 DBC

Startup time: < 5ms

Frequency: 51.84MHz

The device can support any frequency between 1MHz and 400MHz
