Apple is planning to launch a 27-inch mini-LED screen external display in the first quarter of 2023, according to analysts at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
Oct. 7 - Apple is planning to launch a 27-inch mini-LED screen external display in the first quarter of 2023, according to analysts at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
In a tweet shared with fans, the DSCC analyst said that Apple has pushed back the display's release to the first quarter of 2023.
The analysts revealed back in July that Apple was planning to launch the mini-LED display sometime in early 2023. Apple was initially expected to unveil the display at WWDC in June, but he said in May that the launch had to be pushed back to October due to design issues, although Young believes the company is now aiming for a 2023 launch for the display.
It is understood that throughout 2022 Apple has been dealing with supply constraints for a variety of products, including the Mac and its displays, which could account for the delay.
Apple's upcoming display will reportedly feature mini-LED technology, along with ProMotion support, offering refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The device is not expected to be a direct replacement for the Pro Display XDR, which is a larger 6K display. Instead, the new display will be similar to the Apple Studio Display, which is a 27-inch 5K display.
With support for ProMotion and mini-LED technology, the rumoured 27-inch display is expected to be more expensive than the Studio Display, which starts at $11,499.
