Overview

The ADS52J91ZZE is a low power, high performance, 16-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Each ADC has a conversion rate of up to 125MSPS in 10-bit mode. The higher the ADC resolution, the lower the maximum conversion rate.


The device can be configured to accept 8, 16 or 32 inputs. In 32-bit mode, each ADC alternately samples and converts two different inputs at an effective sampling rate whose value is half the ADC conversion rate. In 8-bit input mode, two ADCs interleave the same input, in which case the effective sampling rate is twice the ADC conversion rate. Adcs are designed to adjust their power consumption according to the conversion rate.


The ADC output is serialized and output with the frame clock and the high-speed bit clock via the low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface.


The device also has an optional JESD204B interface that operates in both 16-input and 32-input modes. The interface operates at speeds up to 5Gbps.

• 16-channel ADC, which can be configured to convert 8, 16 or 32 inputs

• Maximum ADC conversion rate:

- 125MSPS in 10-bit mode

- In 12-bit mode, the value is 100MSPS

- 65MSPS in 14-bit mode

• Power supply: 1.2V / 1.8V

• Differential or single-ended input clock

• Signal to Noise ratio (SNR) :

- 61dBFS in 10-bit mode

- In 12-bit mode, the value is 69dBFS

- The value is 73.5dBFS in 14-bit mode

• Power consumption at 125MSPS: 48.6mW/ channel

• 16 ADCs are configured to perform the following transformations:

- 8 inputs with a sampling rate twice the ADC conversion rate

- 16 inputs, the sampling rate is the same as the ADC conversion rate

- 32 inputs with a sampling rate half of the ADC conversion rate

• Support 10/12/14/16x serialization of 1Gbps LVDS interface

• 5Gbps JESD interface:

- JESD204B Subclasses 0, 1, and 2

- Each JESD channel contains 2, 4, or 8 channels

• Package: NFBGA-198 (9mm × 15mm)
