Qorvo® (NASDAQ: QRVO), a leading global provider of connectivity and power solutions, today announced the first single-chip variable reverse cable equalizer. This breakthrough IC is designed for CATV application developers to help them upgrade their networks to meet the advanced DOCSIS® 4.0 standard. DOCSIS 4.0 technology enables the next generation of broadband over a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network of cables, providing not only symmetrical, multi-gigabit speeds, but also high reliability, high security, and low latency.

The new QPC7330 simplifies the field installation process by eliminating the need for "plugins" or complex circuitry to implement the input cable simulator function. As part of the automatic setup routine, Qorvo's QPC7330 can be programmed via I2C. This not only reduces installation time, but also eliminates the need for technicians to carry and inventory additional accessories, which can lead to significant cost savings. The innovative design of the QPC7330 provides a stable, repeatable and adjustable solution that greatly simplifies operations and reduces labor costs associated with complex setups.

Key features of the QPC7330:

• Simplified installation: Includes a low-loss switching bypass mode that can be installed in every line extender and system amplifier for on-demand adjustment

Innovative single-chip design: All equalizer functions are integrated into a compact 10x14mm laminated die module

• Versatility: The I2C controlled 75-ohm 25-state system simulates the loss of different lengths of coaxial cable, with tilt states ranging from 1dB to 24dB and measuring frequencies from 108 to 1794MHz

The QPC7330 is now available for sample and will enter mass production in August 2024. Qorvo introduced the QPC7330 at #ANGACOM2024, which will take place from 14-16 May.
