General Description

The YT6801/YT6801SH is a single Gigabit Ethernet controller. It integrates an IEEE802.3 Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC), a single tri-speed Physical Layer (PHY) port, One Time Programmable (OTP), and a PCI Express x1 controller. It is available in a highly compact 32-pin QFN 4x4 package.

The embedded physical layer is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards and supports 1000Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 10Base-Te. Utilising AFEs, DFEs, echo cancellers, and crosstalk cancellers, packets can be transmitted and received at 1000Mbps without errors over CAT.5E cables of 100 metres or longer. It also has good ESD/surge performance due to its rugged analogue design. Additional features such as auto-crossover, polarity correction, and EEE/mart-EEE are also supported.

MAC supports full-duplex and half-duplex modes. Flow control is supported. It also introduces rich protocol offloading features: ARP/NS offloading, TCP large send offloading, TCP/UDP checksum offloading, IPV4/IPV6 checksum offloading. Supports Receive Side Scaling (RSS) to balance CPU load. Customers can remotely wake up the computer with the WOL feature, which supports frame pattern matching, magic packets, link changes, and Microsoft WPI.

The PCIe 1.1 controller has been enhanced to support various power states including L0, L1, L1SS, L2 and L3. Together with the ASPM/ACPI feature, the entire system can enter various low-power states such as sleep, hibernation, and modern standby to conserve more power. The controller also supports latency reporting (LTR). MSI and MSI-X are also supported.
