Overview:

The Qorvo ACT41000 low noise DC-DC buck converter features a programmable output and auxiliary bias power regulator. These synchronous step-down regulators support a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 40V and incorporate 50MΩ RDSON high - and low-side MOSFETs for efficient power conversion. The ACT41000 supports programmable output of voltage and current (limiting) set points, working seamlessly at constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) to power the drain of a GaN/GaAs power amplifier (PA). The Qorvo factory programs the default Settings, and the optional MCU can program the default Settings in real time via I2C. The precise 256-step current limit enables the MCU to detect accurate IDQ by eliminating the current sensor IC.

Qorvo proprietary current mode control uses its on-chip oscillator clock to synchronize with a spread spectrum or external clock. This fixed frequency operation has a stable control loop that reduces output power noise and reduces EMI for noise sensitive RF components. The ACT41000 series provides two auxiliary power rails for controllers, sensors and other peripherals.

The ACT41000-104 converter is available in a 32-pin 5mm × 5mm heat-enhanced QFN package.
