Diodes Corporation (Diodes) (Nasdaq: DIOD) today announced the launch of the 13.5Gbps high-speed video switch PI3WVR41310. For the next generation of commercial displays, gaming displays, docking stations, video matrix switches and embedded product applications, the product improves resolution and refresh rate.

The PI3WVR41310 four-channel video switch can be used as a 3:1 multiplexer or 1:3 demultiplexer. With an insertion loss of -1.8dB at 13.5Gbps and a bandwidth of -3dB at 10GHz, the switch supports connections such as DisplayPort™ 2.1 to ultra-high bitrate UHBR13.5 specifications, including HDMI 2.1 and other emerging and proprietary standards.

The product also supports a wide signal voltage range, common-mode voltage from 0V to supply rail voltage, enabling multiple standard DC coupling. Since AC coupling capacitors are not required, DC coupling can save space in highly dense PCB designs and enhance signal integrity. Designed for high-speed video signal product applications, the PI3WVR41310 ensures low signal return loss with low interchannel crosstalk, low out-of-channel isolation and bit-to-bit skew.

To assist in proper configuration and communication between connected devices, the product features a dedicated display data channel/Auxiliary channel (DDC/AUX) pin and a hot Swap detection (HPD) pin that automatically identifies devices when successfully connected.

The PI3WVR41310 comes in a 52-pin lead-free package of 3.5mm x 9mm, which saves space and helps reduce PCB costs. The product is now available for purchase in 3,500 units.
