July 13 news, July 12, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued "on the field of industry and information technology to carry out pilot city selection of Beidou scale application notice" put forward, around the mass consumption, industrial manufacturing and integration of three areas of innovation, combined with the local Beidou industrial foundation, urban development characteristics and construction, and actively carry out the pilot work, accelerate to enhance the penetration rate of Beidou, and promote the Beidou equipment and applications to the Beidou three generations of orderly Upgrading.

The Notice requires each pilot city to select at least one field to carry out pilot work, and the pilot contents are as follows:

1.Focusing on the field of mass consumption to enhance the perception and penetration rate of Beidou applications

Focusing on the fields of smartphones, wearable devices, tablet computers, shared travelling and low-altitude application of drones, the pilot cities will actively guide enterprises to develop and produce Beidou products, and continue to improve the supply capacity of the products. Sub-regionally and step by step, it will carry out Beidou applications in the field of mass consumption, establish a dynamic supervision and feedback mechanism, continuously track and improve product performance, and continuously enhance user experience. Combined with local characteristics and resource endowments, the government will give full play to its guiding role, expand the depth and breadth of Beidou applications in the field of mass consumption, and cultivate new modes and new forms of Beidou mass consumption applications.

2.Focusing on industrial manufacturing, accelerating the empowerment of Beidou's industrial applications

Pilot cities should combine regional characteristics and construction conditions to accelerate the promotion of Beidou applications in key areas such as automobiles, ships, aircraft and robots. Encourage the construction of platforms related to Telematics and Intelligent Network Connection, and comprehensively expand the proportion of Beidou on key operating vehicles, public sector vehicles, commercial vehicles and passenger cars. It is encouraged to guide ships navigating inland waterways, coastal areas and near and far oceans to accelerate the loading of Beidou. It is encouraged to increase support for relevant enterprises in the field of aircraft, and accelerate the development and application of Beidou navigation, short message and other airworthiness equipment. Encourage the excavation of new scenes of Beidou application in the field of robotics. Focusing on the development requirements of new industrialisation and new productivity, combining regional resource endowment and comparative advantages of factors, expanding the application of new scenes in the field of Beidou-enabled industrial manufacturing.

3.Focusing on the field of integration and innovation, continuously digging out new scenes of "Beidou +" application.

Pilot cities will combine their industrial capacity, regional advantages and industrial characteristics to actively explore innovation in industrial technology systems and application modes, build a number of innovative application platforms, and cultivate a number of "BeiDou +" integration and innovation applications in various industries. It will guide enterprises to carry out the integration of Beidou with new technologies such as 5G, high-frequency remote sensing, inertial navigation, high-precision vision, short-range interconnection, ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning, big data, cloud computing, etc. It will also push forward the innovative application of the Beidou system in the fields of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Internet of Things (IoT), industrial Internet, artificial intelligence, etc., and promote the in-depth integration of the application of Beidou with the new scenarios of smart cities, intelligent transport, intelligent logistics, intelligent oceans and precision agriculture. Deep integration.

According to the Notice, the pilot cities will carry out the pilot work for a period of 2 years in accordance with the perfected "Beidou Scale Application Pilot Cities Implementation Programme", and at the end of the 2-year pilot period, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organise an expert group to carry out the assessment and acceptance in the light of the city's implementation programme and the expected goals. For cities with outstanding pilot results, a summary of experience will be formed and promoted nationwide.
