Asahi Kasei Microelectronics (AKM) has introduced the new 3D magnetic sensor AK09940A, which uses the TMR magnetic sensor to achieve world-recognized low noise and low power characteristics, and is a compatible upgrade of the AK09940. Compared with the AK09940, the AK09940A is configured with low-power mode, high-speed sampling mode, and external trigger mode, which provides a wider range of applications.
With its high sensitivity and low noise characteristics, AK09940A can be applied to AR/VR devices or other wearable devices to improve the dynamic tracking accuracy of devices.
The AK09940A is capable of high-precision triaxial measurement of small magnetic field wobble, magnetic field leakage, and magnetic field deformation, and is suitable for fault detection and position detection in non-specific weak magnetic field scenarios. In addition, the low power consumption of AK09940A enables it to be flexibly applied in wearable devices, IoT devices and other products with high battery volume requirements.
AK09940A began mass production in Q2 2023.
