Overview:

STGAP2SICS is a single channel gate driver that provides current isolation between the gate drive channel, low voltage control and interface circuits. The gate driver has 4A current capability and rail-to-rail output, making it suitable for medium power and high power applications, such as power conversion and motor drive inverters in industrial applications. The device is available in two different configurations. With the configuration of individual output pins (STGAP2SICSTR), users can optimise on-off and off-off respectively with dedicated gate resistors. This configuration features a single output pin and Miller clamping function (STGAP2SICSCTR) to prevent gate spikes during rapid commutation in half-bridge topologies. Both configurations provide greater flexibility for external components and lower bill of material costs.

STGAP2SICS incorporates protection: UVLO (values optimized for SiC MOSFETs and thermal shutoff) to help design highly reliable systems. Dual input pins support selective signal polarity control and implement HW interlock protection to avoid cross conduction in case of controller failure. The input-output propagation delay is less than 75ns, providing high PWM control accuracy. Standby mode is available to reduce idle power consumption.
