Chip details
BQ79731PHPRQ1 can be used to measure high-voltage voltage dividers in battery systems. It can measure the voltage across fuses and contactors, and check the isolation voltage in the battery junction box (BJB) system. The BQ79731PHPRQ1 features two integrated current detection paths that support low-side shunt resistors. The coulomb counting function can be used for precise SOC calculations. There are 15 GPIO/ auxiliary inputs available for high-voltage measurement, thermistor measurement and driving relays. There are 4 SW outputs available for driving the MOSFET switch in the measurement path. The BQ79731PHPRQ1 can be used as an SPI hub and connected to up to 8 independent SPI devices/groups. The HW pin can be used to autonomously implement overcurrent protection response, so as to provide rapid protection in dangerous overcurrent events. The isolated bidirectional daisy-chain port supports isolation based on capacitors and transformers. The BQ79731PHPRQ1 can also communicate with the MCU via SPI and UART.
Typical applications
The BQ79731PHPRQ1 is suitable for all-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. It can measure the voltage across high-voltage voltage dividers, fuses and contactors, and check the isolation voltage of the battery junction box (BJB) system.
