Recently, u-blox(SIX:UBXN), a leading global provider of positioning and short-range communication technologies, launched the ZED-F20P tri-band GNSS module, further expanding its ZED product portfolio. This brand-new L1/L2/L5 tri-band GNSS module is specifically designed for high-precision applications such as ground and aerial robots, providing centimeter-level RTK/PPP-RTK positioning, fast convergence time and integrated security features for manufacturers deploying dynamic autonomous platforms like ground robot clusters and drone light shows.

Optimize positioning accuracy for dynamic platforms


Among the high-precision module series, the ZED-F20P tri-band (L1/L2/L5) module is specially customized for lightweight dynamic platforms and can provide stable centimeter-level RTK and PPP-RTK positioning. Its end-to-end, chip-to-firmware architecture supports an update frequency of 25Hz, integrating stable and reliable security features and low power consumption advantages in a streamlined design. These features collectively ensure industrial-grade reliability, helping customers smoothly scale from the proof-of-concept stage to large-scale deployment, while avoiding increases in system costs, power consumption or integration complexity.


Seamless integration of ZED's product portfolio


ZED-F20P is compatible with the established ZED packaging and UBX protocol, and can be directly adapted to existing hardware designs. The expanded ZED product portfolio now covers dual-band, tri-band and full-band GNSS solutions. Developers can flexibly choose the most suitable products while using their existing circuit board designs - maintaining design flexibility while facilitating the smooth upgrade of existing products. When used in conjunction with the verified u-blox ANN-MB2 full-band high-precision antenna, the ZED-F20P ensures the best RF performance and provides a one-stop solution for simplifying evaluation and integration. This consistent design approach accelerates time to market and maintains the continuity of both hardware and software.


Support PointPerfect FLEX and LIVE services


When ZED-F20P is used in combination with u-blox PointPerfect Flex/LiveGNSS correction services, a complete and mass-productable GNSS solution can be formed. This solution can achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy within seconds without the need to deploy local base stations. The three-frequency (L1/L2/L5) architecture it adopts ensures rapid convergence and recovery of fixed solutions in complex signal environments, while the PointPerfect service provides stable and reliable correction for critical areas. This deep integration simplifies the development process and significantly accelerates the listing process of the self-developed platform.


The ZZED F20P offers the precision and reliability required for today's ground and aerial robots, achieving a balance between performance, ease of integration, and applicability, enabling engineering teams to transition from prototype products to mass deployment with greater confidence.
