The Bourns® wide terminal CRK series expansion products can provide up to 3 W of power dissipation in a compact 1225 package, meeting the demands of today 's high-current applications.

On July 21, 2025, Bourns, a globally renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, launched the new CRK1225 current detection resistor as an extension of the popular Bourns® CRK series. This automotive-grade series of resistors complies with the AEC-Q200 standard. It adopts metal strip technology and wide terminal design, which can enhance heat dissipation efficiency and reduce hot spot issues. It provides up to 3W of power dissipation in a compact 1225 package and supports a wider resistance range. This new type of current detection resistor is highly suitable for the voltage measurement requirements of today's high-current applications, such as power supplies, stepper motor drivers, input amplifiers, electric vehicle battery management systems (BMS), on-board chargers, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and power domain controllers, etc.

As current detection resistors are increasingly favored for their small size, stable temperature coefficient (TCR), and cost advantages over other technologies, CRK1225 offers a resistance value as low as 1 milliohm (mΩ), enabling high-precision current detection and reducing power loss. This series is also suitable for some harsh environments with thermal/mechanical stress. Its anti-sulfurization design can meet the application challenges in high-sulfur or polluted environments.

The Bourns® CRK1225 series is now available. The entire series complies with RoHS standards and is halogen-free. It can now be ordered through Bourns authorized agent partners.
