Littelfuse Corporation (NASDAQ: LFUS), an industrial technology manufacturing company dedicated to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world, today announced the relaunch of its PTS647 series surface mount tact switches with significant design upgrades to improve noise performance, durability and dust resistance. These enhanced features make the PTS647 series an ideal choice for applications that require compact size, low-noise output and persistent haptic feedback.

The PTS647 series measures only 4.5×4.5 millimeters and is specifically designed for PCB layouts with limited space. It offers three height and drive force options (1.0N, 1.8N, and 2.5N). Depending on the configuration, it supports up to 500,000 compressions and provides consistent haptic feedback in compact devices.

The main design enhancements of the new model include:

The redesigned handle can prevent internal rotation and minimize noise related to vibration.

The sealing tape for pot pieces can enhance dust-proof performance and mechanical stability.

Littelfuse developed these improved derivatives to meet the needs of a leading wireless audio manufacturer, where even slight switching vibrations can interfere with audio fidelity in audio applications. The resulting noise reduction function has now been integrated into the updated PTS647 series, which is identified by the "N" in the product number.
