22 July 2025 - Bourns, a globally renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, is expanding its semi-shielded power inductor product line by adding five new series to its existing Bourns® SRN-BTA series. These new products offer higher maximum inductance values, with some models achieving up to twice the previous levels, while also featuring lower magnetic field radiation. These characteristics make them an economical alternative to fully shielded ferrite inductors. The semi-shielded design combines the advantages of both unshielded and fully shielded inductors, providing a robust and reliable solution for high-demand power applications.

The newly added SRN-BTA series inductors feature a bottom-welded wire design, enhancing mechanical strength and stability, further improving product reliability. These new models are particularly suitable for power supplies in automotive systems, DC-DC converters, and consumer, industrial, and telecommunications electronic devices, especially for applications with higher demands for high-power inductors. The product upgrades bring multiple advantages, including improved magnetic performance and enhanced efficiency.

The Bourns® SRN2010/2510/3010/3015/4018BTA series power inductors are now available and can be ordered through Bourns' authorised distributor partners. All models comply with AEC-Q200 specifications and meet automotive-grade standards, fulfilling the stringent requirements of automotive applications. This series is manufactured at Bourns' IATF 16949-certified facilities.
