[Plano, Texas, 24 June 2025] Diodes Incorporated has introduced the industry's first ReDriver™ signal conditioner capable of achieving PCI Express® (PCIe®) 6.0 protocol speeds (up to 64GT/s) while being backward compatible with PCIe 5.0/4.0/3.0 protocols. 

The PI3EQX64904 is a low-power, high-performance PAM4 linear ReDriver signal conditioner with a data rate of up to 64GT/s and four differential channels. Targeted applications include AI data centres (storage and servers), workstations, 5G networks, CPU-to-network (PCIe NIC cards) and CPU-to-storage (NVMe) interconnects, as well as CPU-to-CPU interconnects in high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.

The PI3EQX64904 ReDriver signal conditioner provides optimised linear equalisation in the equaliser stage, with adjustable low-frequency and high-frequency zeros, to enhance the signal quality of high-speed PCIe interfaces using PAM4 modulation. The conditioner optimises performance across various physical media by reducing intersymbol crosstalk, correcting known channel losses at the transmitter, and restoring signal integrity at the receiver. As a result, the conditioner optimises the receiver's eye diagram with the required margin, enabling reliable PCIe communication at 64GT/s PAM4 rates with low bit error rate (BER).

The PI3EQX64904 meets the requirements of Microsoft's new Modern Standby mode: The system consumes less than 5mW in PCIe L.1.2 deep standby mode. This device also offers higher linearity and ultra-low jitter characteristics. Linear ReDriver signal conditioners are typically used to extend PCB traces while minimising cost and power consumption, and also reduce latency.

The PI3EQX64904 ReDriver signal conditioner requires a supply voltage of 3.3V ±0.3V and operates within the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. This device is packaged in a 31-pin W-LGA-31L (6.1mm x 2.7mm) package, with a minimum order quantity of 3,000 units.
