On April 25th, Intel officially confirmed during its first-quarter earnings call that the first SKU of its next-generation client processor "Panther Lake" will be launched before the end of this year, while the remaining SKUs will be available in the first quarter of 2026.
Michelle Johnston Holthaus, the product director of Intel, said that the Panther Lake processor is excellent in both performance and price and is expected to gain excellent acceptance in the market.
This time, the priority is given to launching the "highest-performance" product, which also continues the strategy of the previous generation of products.
According to previous leaks, Panther Lake comes in three different configurations. The first one features 4P large cores, 8E small cores, and 12 Xe3 GPU cores. It is expected to be the SKU to be launched this year.
The base power consumption of its PL1 is 25W, and the turbo boost power consumption of PL2 has two parameters: one is the baseline 55W, and the other is the performance level 64W.
The second configuration has the same 4P large cores and 8E small cores for the CPU part, while the GPU part is reduced to 4 Xe3 cores. The power consumption of its PL1 is also 25W, and the power consumption of PL2 is fixed at 64W.
The third configuration only has 4 P large cores and 4 Xe3 GPU cores, with two power consumption levels: PL1 at 15W and PL2 at 44W, and PL1 at 25W and PL2 at 55W.
