Device details:

The MP4316 synchronous buck converter integrates internal high - and low-end power MOSFETs (HS-FETs and LS-FETs) to provide configurable frequencies. The MP4316 enables efficient continuous output current (IOUT) up to 6A, with a current control mode for fast loop response. With a wide input voltage (VIN) range of 3.3V to 45V, the device is suitable for a variety of buck applications in automotive input environments. With a turn-off current (ISD) of 1.7μA, the MP4316 is ideal for battery-powered applications.

The MP4316 synchronous buck converter produces high power conversion efficiency over the entire load range. The device's advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode reduces switching and gate driver losses by reducing the switching frequency (FSW), resulting in high efficiency under light load conditions. The Open drain Power Good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is between 95% and 105% of its nominal voltage. The high duty cycle and low pressure difference (LDO) modes enable the MP4316 to withstand cold start conditions.

The MP4316 offers a full range of protection features, including frequency backtracking to prevent runaway inductive current (IL) during startup, overcurrent protection (OCP) with burp mode, and thermal shut-off for reliable fault-tolerant operation.
