Littelfuse Corporation introduces C&K Switches KSC2 KSC Dual Circuit Technology (DCT) series of touch switches. This is the latest addition to C&K's line of innovative touch switches with an actuator height of 3.5mm, lower than the KSC4 DCT with an actuator height of 5.2mm. Combining single-pole double-throw (SPDT) functionality and electrical height specifications, the KSC2 DCT offers unmatched functionality in a compact, space-saving design.

The KSC2 DCT provides designers with greater flexibility, enabling them to design slim, accurate and reliable products. The actuator has a shorter travel and faster response time, which is critical for applications that require high-speed and precise inputs. With a rugged IP67-rated seal and SPDT function, the KSC2 DCT is ideal for demanding environments that require compactness, reliability and advanced functionality.

The new 3.5mm actuator height makes the KSC2 DCT stand out for its space-saving design, faster response time and higher integration. The KSC2 DCT uses dual-circuit technology (DCT), a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) configuration, to generate two independent output signals within a single switch. This feature improves reliability and versatility, enabling the following:

Active fault detection: enables the system to verify logic before execution, thereby improving safety (for example, preventing accidental opening of doors);

Complex control scheme: Flexible definition of logic-based actions to achieve advanced device functions;

Simplify circuit design: Reduce the number of switches and wiring, simplify the development process and reduce costs.

The KSC2 DCT and KSC4 DCT touch switches now include electrical height specifications that ensure precise switching position relative to the PCB. This improvement reduces cumulative tolerance errors and simplifies design integration. The specification eliminates variability by providing standardized accuracy of ±0.15mm or ±0.2mm, providing consistent, reliable functionality for a variety of applications. In addition, the product simplifies the design process, speeds up integration, and reduces development time for engineers.
