Device introduction

The NCID9210 is a current isolated, full-duplex, bidirectional, high-speed dual-channel digital isolator. The device supports isolated communication, allowing digital signals to communicate between systems without conducting ground loops or hazardous voltages.

The device uses OnSemi's patented current off-chip capacitor isolation technology and optimized IC design to achieve high isolation and immunity, with high common-mode rejection and power supply rejection. The thick ceramic substrate produces capacitors about 25 times thicker than thin film capacitors and coreless transformers. The result is a combination of the electrical performance benefits of a digital isolator with the safety reliability of a >0.5 mm insulator gate, similar to previous optocouplers.
