Overview:

The TMC5240 is an intelligent high-performance stepper motor controller and driver IC with serial communication interfaces (SPI, UART) and extensive diagnostic capabilities. It combines a flexible, snap-optimized ramp generator for automatic target positioning with the industry's most advanced stepper motor driver based on a 256-uSteps built-in stepper and two fully integrated 36V, 3.0A (maximum) H-bridges and non-dissipative integrated current detection (ICS). TRINAMIC's sophisticated StealthCHOP2 chopper ensures absolute noise-free operation with maximum efficiency and optimal motor torque. High integration, energy efficiency and small size enable systems to be miniaturized and scalable for cost-effective solutions. The complete solution minimizes the learning curve while delivering the best performance in its class.

The TMC5240 is available in a small TQFN32 5mm X 5mm package and a thermally optimized TSSOP38 9.7mm X 4.4mm package with exposed pads.
