Description

The LMR38020FSQDDARQ1 synchronous buck converter is designed to regulate over a wide input voltage range, minimising the need for external surge suppression components. The ability to continue to operate at nearly 100% duty cycle as needed during input voltage dips down to 4.2V makes it ideal for 48V battery automotive applications and MHEV/EV systems.


The LMR38020FSQDDARQ1 uses a precision enable terminal to provide flexibility by supporting direct connection to a wide range of input voltages or precise control of device startup and shutdown. A power normal state flag with built-in filtering and delay functions provides a true indication of system status, eliminating the need for an external monitor. The device features pseudo-random spreading for ultra-low EMI, and the switching frequency can be configured between 200kHz and 2.2MHz to avoid noise-sensitive bands. In addition, the frequency can be selected to improve efficiency at low operating frequencies or to reduce the size of the solution at high operating frequencies.


The device has built-in protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limiting, intermittent mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown in case of excessive power consumption. The LMR38020-Q1 meets automotive AEC-Q100 Level 1 and is available in an 8-pin HSOIC PowerPAD integrated circuit package.
