Product Description
The CYAT81688-100AS77KH is a capacitive touch screen controller that uses sensing and processing technology to determine and report the position of up to ten fingers on a touch screen. The touch screen controller converts an array of sensor capacitance to an array of digital values, which are processed by touch detection and position resolution algorithms in the controller. These algorithms determine the position and signal amplitude of each finger on the touchscreen.

The device contains a high-performance Arm® 32-bit CPU with an integrated hardware multiplication unit that controls all sensing and processes the measured capacitance results for tracking and reporting of touches. The controller is optimised for low power consumption and fast response times and has built-in support for manufacturing testing. The touchscreen controller communicates with the host via an I2 C slave interface at rates up to 400 kbps or an SPI interface at rates up to 8 Mbps.The CYAT81688-100AS77KH uses the touch subsystem to collect touchscreen sensor information. The touch subsystem consists of a 5 V TX pump, TX driver, RX channel, and programmable transmit/receive (TX/RX) multiplexer. The multiplexer electrically connects the analogue front end of each RX channel and TX driver to the corresponding row and column electrodes of the touchscreen sensor.
The controller TX/RX multiplexer allows for flexible chip placement on the FPC. All pins connected to the touchscreen sensor are programmable as TX or RX.
