Overview:

The LM536035QPWPRQ1 step-down regulator is designed for automotive applications and provides 5V/3A outputs with input voltages up to 36V. When the input voltage is up to 20V, the device can use advanced high-speed circuitry to regulate the voltage while providing 5V output at a switching frequency of 2.1MHz. The device uses an innovative architecture that provides a 3.3V regulated output even when the input voltage is only 3.5V. The product is fully optimized for automotive customers.

The input voltage of the device is up to 36V and the maximum transient voltage allowed is 42V, which simplifies the input surge protection design. The leak-open reset output has filtering and delay functions to provide a correct indication of system status. Because of this feature, the device does not need to use additional monitoring components, which saves cost and board space. The device seamlessly switches between both PWM and pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) modes and operates at a current of only 24µA under no load, ensuring high efficiency and excellent transient response under all load conditions.
