Device overview:

The QorlQ® Layerscape® LX2162A processor integrates the processing power of the popular LX2160A device into an almost quarter-size package. These processors feature not only 16nm FinFET process technology and low power consumption of up to 16 Arm® Cortex-A72 cores, but also data path acceleration (optimized for L2-3 packet processing), secure offloading and robust traffic management, as well as quality of service.

The LX2162A processor is suitable for small circuit boards such as network interface cards, COM Express Type 7 modules, OCP3 sandwich cards and custom subcards. The processor retains the LX2160A's 16 Cortex-A72 cores, 50Gbit/s security engine, and 88Gbit/s data compression engine. It has 12 SerDes channels with rates up to 25Gbit/s and can support four 25Gbit Ethernet connections and many other combinations such as x8 PCIe Gen3.

The LX2162A processor has a powerful Ethernet controller for packet offloading and edge computing, providing excellent computing performance.
