The AM6441BSEGHAALVR is a new addition to the industrial-grade heterogeneous Arm® processor family from Sitara™, built for industrial applications such as motor drives and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that require a unique combination of real-time processing and communications with application processing. the AM64x combines two Sitara device gigabit PRU-ICSSG instances with TSN support with up to two Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores and one Cortex-M4F MCU. instances with up to two Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores, up to four Cortex-R5F MCUs and one Cortex-M4F MCU.
The AM64x is designed to provide excellent real-time performance through high-performance R5F cores, tightly coupled memory banks, configurable SRAM partitions, and dedicated low-latency paths to and from peripherals to enable fast data entry and exit to and from the SoC. This deterministic architecture allows the AM64x to handle tight control loops in servo drives, while peripherals such as FSIs, GPMCs, PWMs, delta-sigma extraction filters, and absolute encoder interfaces can be used. peripherals such as FSI, GPMC, delta-sigma extraction filters and absolute encoder interfaces help enable the many different architectures in these systems.
