The AEDR-9830DP-102 is a three-channel reflective optical encoder that can be configured with analogue or digital outputs and uses reflective technology for motion control. The encoder has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 115°C and is suitable for commercial, industrial and automotive end-use applications.

Options include a two-channel differential analogue output and a third channel differential digital or analogue index output, or a three-channel digital differential A, B and I output. The AEDR-9830 in analogue encoder mode has two channels of differential analogue outputs (Sin, /Sin, Cos, /Cos) for direct connection to an external interpolator.

The encoder integrates an infrared LED light source and photodetection circuitry in a single package. The encoder's compact size of 4.00 mm (L) x 4.00 mm (W) x 1.05 mm (H) allows it to be used in a wide range of micro-commercial applications where size and space are key considerations.
