The Broadcom AEAT-9988M-D30 IC has absolute and incremental signal outputs, making it suitable for use in a variety of applications. The sensor incorporates a Hall element with advanced analogue and digital processing capabilities in a single device. The dual-rail magnet rotates vertically to generate the desired magnetic field. Magnet ring sizes range from 20mm to 50mm inside diameter.

The AEAT-9988M-D30 also has a built-in multi-turn counter that operates in battery backup power-down mode. The resolution of the multiturn counter can be programmed from 10 bits to 16 bits. The user can choose to receive the absolute angular position from the PWM encoded output signal. The incremental position is transmitted via ABI and UVW signals with resolutions ranging from 1 CPR to 65,536 CPR, and UVW commutation signals with user-configurable pole pairs ranging from 1 to 64 poles (2 to 128 poles).
